The 15th Maintenance Forum was successfully held this year in Athens!

For the 15th time, Atlantis Engineering in collaboration with the Hellenic Maintenance Society co-organized the Panhellenic Maintenance Forum, held in Athens.

Under a tense period of change, the digital transformation of Maintenance and the adoption of a sustainable policy by businesses is considered imperative.

The opening of the conference was prefaced by the General Manager of ATLANTIS Engineering and President of the Hellenic Maintenance Company, George Effraimidis alongside with the Minister of Development & Investments, Adonis Georgiadis.

This year’s meeting was attended by prominent speakers and distinguished executives from leading companies in our country and abroad.

The main topics of the conference were the Digital Transformation of Asset & Maintenance Management, Predictive Maintenance in the era of Industry 4.0, and Facility Management & HSE.

Important issues and approaches were presented during the round table on “The transformation of maintenance in the era of Industry 4.0”. In particularly, George Effraimidis, President, Hellenic Maintenance Society, George Georgopoulos, Technical Department Team Leader, Uni-Pharma, Dimitris Kounoupas, Engineering Manager, Elbisco, Nikos Pitsinis, Factory Manager, DELTA FOODS and Dimitris Staikopoulos, Technical Director, Rivulis, participated at the round table and shared best practices and critical obstacles from their experience as maintenance experts.

In particular, key issues discussed, like how the human factor affects a company’s digital transition, as choosing the right digital tools is not enough. A prerequisite element is supportive leadership, which is vital to creating a culture of employee engagement and self-improvement.

Great views also appeared in the “Digital Transformation of Asset Management & Maintenance” section! Mark Harmaan, founder and CEO of Mainnovation, one of the leading consulting firms specializing in Maintenance & Asset Management, presented best practices and specific case studies from his long-term experience at the conference.

Aleksandar Maksimovic, ACTEMIUM‘s Director of Maintenance Industry Development, motivated the industry with his speech on adopting a new strategic approach and reorienting maintenance for climate neutrality and digital leadership, while implementing modern digital platforms.

Following the same philosophy, the company ELBAK S.A. from the Food Industry, represented by the Industrial IT & Automation Engineer, Aristeidis Vlachoulis shared its experience of implementing Atlantis Engineering’s integrated AIMMS software, achieving the digital upgrade of the Technical Department, while introducing automated maintenance procedures with measurable results!

Remarkably, since the first year of implementing the system, they have significantly reduced downtime and unexpected production stoppage, increasing useful time by 9%.

“From Data to Decisions…”

Interesting speeches and case studies were also presented in the “Industry 4.0 & Predictive Maintenance” section.

Among them, Dr. Thanasis Naskos, Chief Innovation Officer of Atlantis Engineering, spoke about the utilization of acoustic signals from vibration and ultrasound sensors, to produce data & models that feed Industry 4.0 algorithms to fault detection (Sibyl: Industry 4.0 Platform).

In the same vein, Vasilios Zygouris, Head of Digital Transformation, Innovation Directorate, Aluminum of Greece, Metallurgy Sector, MYTILINEOS, analyzed the challenges faced by businesses, as well as the decisions, to properly evaluate the collected data and join in the Industry 4.0 era, without this intercepting its course.
